Easy to get started

So I needed an app for our club events, nothing too fancy, just something quick. Glide was super easy, honestly. Used a Google Sheet and boom, had a basic event app in no time. Didn't even need to watch a ton of tutorials. Just worked, you know? Good experience overall.

Good value for annual plan

I was looking for a cost-effective way to build a simple internal tool for my small team. The annual billing discount for Glide's Pro plan really caught my eye. It saved me a good chunk of money compared to monthly. Setting up my first inventory management app was straightforward. Definitely felt like a smart purchase for the features I got.

Solid platform, minor glitches

I used Glide to build an employee directory and it generally worked well. The Google Sheets sync was reliable, and the custom domain setup was painless. However, I did notice a couple of times the app took a bit longer to load on mobile than I'd expect, especially with more data. Customer support was responsive when I had a question about user authentication, which was a plus. For the price, especially with the annual discount, it offers a lot of functionality. Just wish the load times were consistently snappier.

anyone know if glide does any discounts for non-profits? trying to build a volunteer management app but budget is super tight.

N Neil Whitfield 1 month ago
Yeah, they do. My friend got a sweet deal for his charity. You just need to reach out to them and prove your non-profit status. Worth a shot!

I think so! I remember seeing something about non-profit discounts or special pricing. You'd probably have to contact their sales team directly though, it's not usually a public promo code kind of thing.

How's Glide compare to Bubble? I'm trying to decide between them for a customer portal. Heard good things about both but not sure which is easier to learn.

S Sam J. 1 month ago
Oh man, Glide is way easier to get started with, especially if you're pulling data from Google Sheets or Airtable. Bubble has a steeper learning curve but can do more complex logic. For a customer portal, Glide could be perfect if it's mostly data display and simple forms.

Bubble is definitely more powerful but it's a lot to wrap your head around. Glide is more 'drag and drop' and intuitive. If you just need a portal to show info and let users update their profiles, Glide is probably quicker to launch.

Thinking of switching from monthly to annual billing for my team plan. Is the 20% saving legit or are there hidden catches? Just want to confirm before committing.

B Ben Y. 2 months ago
It's totally legit! I switched to annual last year and saved the 20%. No catches, just locks you in for the year but saves you money in the long run if you're planning to stick with it.

Can confirm, 20% off is standard for annual billing. It's a pretty common model for SaaS platforms.

Can I publish an app I build on Glide to the App Store? Like for iOS or Android users?

R Raj Nguyen 2 months ago
Nah, not directly to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Glide apps are more like progressive web apps or internal tools that you access via a link. You can save them to your phone's home screen, but they aren't 'native' apps in that sense.

Yeah, if you need a true app store app, Glide isn't it. It's great for internal stuff or simple public-facing tools, but not for distributing through the official app stores.

Hey guys, thinking of using Glide for my small biz inventory thing. Is the free plan actually usable or super limited? Just need to track a few hundred items.

E Elena Foster 2 months ago
It's pretty good for basic stuff! You can definitely build an inventory app on the free plan, but you'll hit limits on rows pretty quick if you have a lot of data. For a few hundred items, you might be fine for a while, but eventually you'll want to upgrade for more features and rows.

Yeah, I started on free for a simple internal tool. Works great for smaller projects and testing things out. If you're building something for your business, you'll probably want a paid plan for the extra oomph and user capacity.
